The Adult Protective Service Social Worker plays a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of adults in need of protective services.
- Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement service plans tailored to the individual needs of clients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including law enforcement and healthcare professionals, to ensure client safety.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case documentation and records.
- Educate clients and caregivers about available resources and services.
- Advocate for client rights and access to necessary social services.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as a social worker in the relevant state.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in social work, preferably in adult protective services or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of adult safeguarding laws, policies, and ethical standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in case management software and documentation practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for client visits.
