Responsibilities
- Analyze statistical data including mortality, accident, sickness, disability, and retirement rates to inform risk assessment.
- Construct probability tables to effectively forecast risk and liability for future benefit payments.
- Calculate necessary insurance rates and cash reserves to ensure the sustainability of future benefit obligations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement actuarial models and methodologies.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations of findings for stakeholders and management.
- Utilize statistical software and actuarial tools to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in actuarial science.
- Support the actuarial team in various projects, including pricing and reserving initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Completed or in progress of passing actuarial exams through a recognized professional body (e.g., SOA, CAS).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, Python) and Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex information effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience with actuarial modeling and forecasting techniques is a plus.
