Job Brief
The Acquisitions Librarian is responsible for administering and maintaining library collections, ensuring the acquisition, cataloging, and circulation of a diverse range of informational materials, including books, periodicals, and digital resources. Responsibilities

- Catalog and classify new materials in accordance with established library standards.

- Provide reference and user services, assisting patrons in locating and utilizing information effectively.
- Develop and maintain library policies and procedures related to acquisitions and user access.
- Organize training sessions to educate users on library systems and information retrieval techniques.
- Collaborate with library staff and stakeholders to assess collection needs and enhance resource offerings.
- Monitor trends in library acquisitions and recommend new resources based on user demand and industry developments.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience in library acquisitions, cataloging, and collection management.
- Strong knowledge of library management systems and digital resource platforms.
- Familiarity with cataloging standards such as MARC, RDA, or AACR2.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
