Our experience with this company was deeply disappointing and disheartening. My boyfriend recently interviewed for a position that we were truly hopeful about — not just for a career opportunity, but because we’re a struggling family trying to get back on our feet.
After the interview, we were told to expect an update within the week. That update never came. Days passed, and we heard nothing. Out of concern and uncertainty, we finally called them ourselves, only to be met with a casual, “Oops, we forgot to call.”
That kind of indifference is more than just unprofessional — it’s dehumanizing. A job interview isn’t just a formality for many people; it’s a chance at stability and hope. For them, it might’ve been another line on a schedule, but for us, it was a potential turning point. To be ghosted and then dismissed like that was incredibly hurtful.
We understand that not every applicant gets the job. But what we don’t understand — and can’t accept — is the complete lack of respect or consideration in how this was handled. Companies need to do better. People’s lives are impacted by your decisions, and at the very least, applicants deserve timely, honest communication
