Job Brief

The Geological Sample Tester plays a crucial role in supporting scientists and engineers by utilizing electronic, sonic, and nuclear measuring instruments to gather vital data on geological resources such as metallic ores, minerals, gas, coal, and petroleum. This position requires a solid understanding of laboratory procedures, exploration techniques, and production activities. A successful candidate will excel in analyzing mud samples, drill cuttings, and charting pressure and temperature characteristics of wells or boreholes, ultimately contributing to resource assessment and extraction efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation of electronic, sonic, and nuclear measuring instruments for geological analysis.
  • Analyze geological samples, including mud and drill cuttings, to determine resource composition.
  • Chart and document pressure, temperature, and other key parameters of wells and boreholes.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to interpret data and generate reports on geological findings.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.

Requirements
