Job Brief

The Gas Meter Mechanic is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical devices used in regulating and controlling gas flow. This role requires hands-on experience with electric meters, gas regulators, thermostats, and safety valves. Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair gas meters and associated regulatory equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting on gas-related systems.
  • Calibrate and adjust gas regulators and flow valves to ensure optimal performance.
  • Document service work and maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding gas safety standards.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance operational efficiency and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in gas mechanics preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Gas Meter Mechanic or in a similar role within the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and gas control devices.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate company vehicles safely.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in gas operations.
  • Certification in gas appliance servicing or related fields is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
