Job Brief
The Gas Meter Mechanic is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical devices used in regulating and controlling gas flow. Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair gas meters and associated regulatory equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting on gas-related systems.
- Calibrate and adjust gas regulators and flow valves to ensure optimal performance.
- Document service work and maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding gas safety standards.
- Respond to emergency repair requests promptly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance operational efficiency and safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in gas mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as a Gas Meter Mechanic or in a similar role within the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and gas control devices.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate company vehicles safely.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in gas operations.
- Certification in gas appliance servicing or related fields is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
