The Firebrick Layer Helper plays a critical role in supporting skilled masons by assisting with various tasks involved in masonry work. Responsibilities
- Assist brickmasons and blockmasons in the preparation and installation of firebrick materials.
- Supply, hold, and manage tools and materials required for masonry work.
- Clean and maintain work areas to promote safety and efficiency.
- Follow instructions from skilled masons to ensure quality workmanship.
- Transport materials to and from job sites as needed.
- Support the setup and dismantling of scaffolding and other equipment.
- Monitor tools and equipment for proper functioning and report any issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in construction or a related field is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of masonry tools and materials is advantageous.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, if required.
