UPDATED: (videos attached)
Hello Evo Management,
I appreciate the response and, as I mentioned in my review, I have no problem with the new leasing team. They have been friendly and professional throughout this process. My issue is not with them—it is with the fact that I was blatantly misled about the construction timeline when I signed my lease.
I specifically asked about construction before signing in August 2023 because it was a deciding factor in whether I would live here. I was assured that construction would not begin until the last month of my lease (October/November 2024). That turned out to be completely false, and the reality was that my unit became unlivable due to excessive noise, shaking, and disruption starting way earlier than what was promised.
By not allowing me to leave freely and instead forcing me to pay an early termination fee under these circumstances, Evo has put me in an extremely unjust position. I was misled into signing this lease based on false information, and I refuse to simply accept the financial burden for a situation that was not my fault.
I am demanding that my refund be processed in full. I exercised my right to terminate the lease only because the conditions I was promised did not hold true. If Evo Apartments truly values transparency and fairness, then I expect this to be resolved accordingly.
(Previous) DO NOT MOVE HERE – Worst Living Experience Ever
If I could give zero stars, I would. Evo Apartments has been a complete disaster, and I regret ever signing a lease here. We were flat-out lied to by the leasing team at the time when we toured in August 2023. We specifically asked about the construction across from our unit because we didn’t want to deal with noise. They assured us it wouldn’t start until October/November 2024, AFTER our lease was up (we signed the lease from November 2023-November 2024). That was completely false. Construction started way earlier, and it made our apartment unlivable. The noise was so unbearable—6 AM to 8 PM nonstop, our walls shook, my chandelier was swinging, and a picture frame even fell off the wall. I couldn’t even work from home, which is how I make my living.
Because of this, we had no choice but to break our lease, costing us $6,400—all because we were tricked into signing in the first place. We even reached out to Evo’s ownership to ask for an exception so we wouldn’t have to pay this ridiculous fee for something that wasn’t our fault, and they didn’t even bother responding. Instead, they had the new leasing manager email us. The new leasing team is nice, and I don’t have a problem with them personally, but the fact remains that we were misled and financially trapped in a lease we had to pay thousands of dollars to get out of.
“LUXURY” AMENITIES? MORE LIKE CONSTANTLY BROKEN
One of the biggest reasons we chose Evo over Ascent was the amenities. Turns out, that was another scam.
The sauna and hot tub? Out of order for weeks at a time.
The elevators? Constantly breaking down, making us wait 5+ minutes just to get on one.
The garage door? Left wide open for over two weeks.
The front door? Broken for weeks, forcing residents to enter through the loading dock.
My girlfriend had to walk through a dark alleyway at night just to get inside while I was traveling for work—completely unsafe.
DIRTY, UNMAINTAINED, AND NOT WORTH THE PRICE
For the amount of money Evo charges, this place should at least be clean. The stairwells and common areas are disgusting, and it’s clear maintenance is not a priority. I have photo proof of the filth.
I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK
Evo Apartments is a scam. They lied to us, trapped us in a lease under false pretenses, and then forced us to pay thousands of dollars just to escape the misery they caused. If the owners had any decency, they would refund us the early termination fee in full.
If Evo is willing to make this right and refund us, I will be happy to take down all reviews. But until then, I will make sure everyone knows how Evo treats its residents. Do not move here.
