Job Brief
The Drawbench Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending machines that extrude and form continuous filaments from synthetic materials, including liquid polymer, rayon, and fiberglass. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in manufacturing processes, adept technical skills, and an understanding of quality control measures. Experience in a similar role is preferred, along with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and ensure efficient production.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust drawbench machinery for optimal filament production.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on drawbench equipment.
- Document production data and report any discrepancies to management.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure product specifications are met.
- Train new operators on machine setup and operational procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
- Proven experience operating extrusion machinery or related equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
- Knowledge of synthetic materials, including polymers and fibers.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and quality control procedures in manufacturing.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials as required.
