I live at Shenandoah woods apartments in Plymouth owned by HornigCompanies. I have lived here since 2016. I never report issues and let it go because I personally don’t have the time or energy to put in complaints but I felt this recent issue crossed a line where it’s now a safety issue. I have a child in the house and that is why I felt a need to report. I recently moved to different apartment from a different floor, I got the keys from the property manager Angela, she never did a walk through and never offered an opportunity to schedule one, she never informed me of the state/condition the home she just gave me the keys to, I was never followed up with or anything, nor was I given a move in inspection sheet. Those are all protocols which should be followed under policy and was totally missed. To my surprise I’m now seeing why i never was given the opportunity to inspect or do a walk through. The apartment had not been lived in for almost a year, there seemed to be a lack of consideration or care for the job or to a tenant that has lived here since 2016. Because I work a full time job and have a child, I had to leave work to meet Angela and she understands the hoops I have to jump through to make an appointment with her, she is almost never available and even when you call it’s very short and unpleasant. When I picked up the keys from Angela, she never once advised me or warned me for what I was about to see. Please see photos attached. The condition in which this place was left is Unfathomable and unimaginable, toilets were black and crusted, cabinets were filthy, cub-boards had stains from spray paint and were sticky and disgusting, there was dirt or something splattered on all doors, almost all the light switches had no covers and still don’t after alerting management which is a serious hazard. It honestly just seems like a lack of attention or care and it’s not appreciated. This should not be how anyone should be treated. There needs to be swift action taken to remedy these matters. I pride myself in being neighborly, kind and easy going but when my health, my child’s health is not considered and I am stuck bleaching the entire home, that’s not appropriate or professional. There’s seems to be a lack of Decorum and I want that back to the management team. I’ve even had multiple people tell me there personal complaints. I hope this does not continue. Also, understand that I’m very familiar with anti retaliation polices and am not afraid to reach out to the AG office.
