Job Brief

As a Certified Optician, you will play a crucial role in enhancing patients’ vision by designing, measuring, fitting, and adapting lenses and frames according to optical prescriptions. Responsibilities

  • Design, measure, fit, and adapt eyeglasses and contact lenses according to written optical prescriptions.
  • Assist clients with inserting, removing, and caring for contact lenses, providing necessary guidance and support.
  • Evaluate client facial measurements to coordinate frames with optical prescriptions for optimal fit and aesthetics.
  • Prepare detailed work orders for the optical laboratory, including instructions for grinding and mounting lenses in frames.
  • Verify the accuracy of finished spectacles to ensure compliance with optical prescriptions and client specifications.
  • Adjust frame and lens positions to enhance comfort and visual clarity for clients.
  • Shape or reshape frames as needed to achieve the desired fit and style.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear technology and maintain knowledge of relevant optical products.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Licensed Optician or equivalent accreditation in the optical field.
  • Proven experience as an Optician or in a related optical position.
  • Strong knowledge of optical principles, lens types, and frame materials.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to guide clients effectively.
  • Proficiency in optical measurement tools and technologies.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills for adjusting and fitting eyewear.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
