What i experienced is this company makes money by abusing people. This is my history : my friend gave me a gift card named The Perfect Gift that was issued by Pepople Trust Company. you all see this gift cards in Walmart and other stores. When i decided to use it, the balance was wierd. After calling customer service i found there’s a maintanance fee 3$ per month !! not sure but seems they are maintaining their own pocket since the original gift card was $100 and balance was $7 and i proudly found that in those months they were mainating their pocket from me. After discussion and to my understanding it was supposed to be waived and issued a new one with new expiry and in full amount. Now after 2.5 months CanadaPost strike, I received the new card with $7 balance instead of original $100 and a rude customer rep threatened me that in case of not using it , would be zero soon. Not sure how much my firend was charged in purchase stage but they are making money by some fine prints that not a gift reciever look at it. i didn’t know by not using a gift card it would be deducted ! We have all given and recieved several gift cards from other companies for several events but this is totally a rip off. Please do favour to your friends, families and do not purchase this gift card from Walmart and other stores since your friends and family members can’t tell you what really in the gift card is.

Re: happy her/HappyCard.ca This is a scam. The card has been declined each time I tried to use. Spoke to customer service. A new card was issued. Then the card wasn’t activated. Still declined. Now the matter has been “escalated,” but I’ve received no resolution or update. I am in Ontario. I am contacting the Ministry of Consumer Affaires to find out what recourse I have. The $50 that was paid for this card WILL BE RECOUPED no matter how long it takes me. “Use card to purchase goods/services at participating Canadian merchants listed on card.”

Apparently they charge you for “maintaining” your card after a certain amount of time. By the time I realized, the card had $0 left on it. No other gift card I’ve ever received “expired” or had maintenance fees. Such a waste of money, especially since the cards cost money to activate to begin with. DO NOT PURCHASE.
