I’ve been trying to get in contact with the university for the past 7 months now. I’ve sent a dozen emails, quite a few to people who are no longer mentioned on the website. I’ve tried calling but as soon as I said “do you speak English” or an English greeting I would be put on hold or get hung up on. The longest I managed to be on hold was 55minutes after which the phone was picked up (I heard people talking and background noise) and promptly hung up.

Charles University is one of the prominent institutes of Europe. This has produced some of the best researchers, educationists, scientists, politicians, writers and philosophers in the ages. Czech Republic is the birth place of modern education, the concept that was tested and applied first time in world. The bishop John Amos Comenius was the first person to introduce the concept of universal education with emphasise of learning with experience and practice rather than just remembering. He advocated learning in native languages rather than in Latin. Czech People continued to contribute in science and philosophy ever since. Charles University has proved to be excellent in diverse fields of science, arts, technology, and economics. I ave seen some quality research have been published by university professors. Their contribution in top tier journals attest not only their personal knowledge but also the synergetic environment of the university. I always dream to study in this university but never got the chance. In September 2015, forensic department of Czech Government organised the one of the biggest forensic conferences of Europe and the world. EAFS 2015 happened in Prague and I got the opportunity to publish my research work in this conference. One day I thought to visit the university. I visited Anthropology department but unfortunately the department was closed so I had to return. But i got the glimpse of the department where I want to study. In future I am planning to apply for a fellowship to study In Charles university. I got some pictures that I would like to share with you. If you are in academics you will defiantly appreciate. If you visit Prague then apart from other historically important monuments, consider your visit to Charles University as well. All the best for your journey to Prague and be safe. Wear your mask.

Spent 6 years, getting my degree here. The experience is phenomenal. You make friends for life and the diversity is incredible. Truly global. The student experience only gets better by the fact that the city is very safe and comparatively cheaper than other places in Europe. The university in itself is still catching up to the level of modernisation, you would find in the UK, Scandinavia or German universities but nonetheless, still good.
