Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated Wharf Laborer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for manually moving freight, stock, luggage, and other materials in a busy wharf environment. Responsibilities
- Manually load and unload freight, stock, and materials from shipping containers and vehicles.
- Transport materials to designated areas within the wharf or warehouse.
- Ensure the organization and cleanliness of the work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist with inventory management by tracking materials and reporting discrepancies.
- Follow safety protocols and practices to minimize accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment and tools.
- Support other general labor tasks as needed to facilitate smooth operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in general labor, material handling, or warehouse operations.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a labor environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Basic knowledge of equipment operation is a plus (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
