Job Brief
The Welding Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending welding, soldering, and brazing machines or robots to fabricate metal products, components, and assemblies. This role requires proficiency in operating various welding equipment, including laser cutters and laser-beam machines, and a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety practices. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate welding machines and equipment for optimal performance.
- Operate welding, soldering, and brazing machines to create durable metal joints.
- Monitor welding processes to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Document production and quality control data for reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve welding processes and techniques.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding technology preferred.
- Proven experience as a Welding Machine Operator or similar role.
- Knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and safety practices.
- Familiarity with laser cutting technology and automated welding systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME) is a plus.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
