Job Brief
As a Water Taxi Ferry Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating small motor-driven boats in various waterways, providing reliable transportation services to passengers. Responsibilities
- Operate and navigate small motor-driven boats in compliance with local maritime regulations.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by conducting pre-departure safety checks and adhering to operational protocols.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
- Monitor weather conditions and waterways, adjusting routes as necessary to ensure safe travel.
- Maintain the vessel’s cleanliness and functionality through regular inspections and maintenance activities.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and dispatch to coordinate ferry schedules and respond to emergencies.
- Document operational logs and report any incidents or mechanical issues promptly.
- Provide information and guidance to passengers regarding local attractions and travel routes.
Requirements
- Valid boating license and certification in first aid and CPR.
- Demonstrated experience operating small vessels, preferably in a ferry or taxi service environment.
- Strong understanding of navigational tools and techniques, including GPS and maritime charts.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Proven ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting and minor repairs on the vessel.
