Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Water Main Pipe Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laying pipes for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Responsibilities
- Excavate trenches for water main installation and ensure proper grading for drainage.
- Lay pipes and connect them to existing water mains or drainage systems.
- Seal joints securely to prevent leaks and ensure structural integrity.
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate pipe laying projects and schedules.
- Conduct quality checks on pipe installations to meet industry standards.
- Operate heavy machinery and tools safely and effectively during trenching and pipe laying.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite, following all safety protocols.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues related to pipe installations and repairs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in plumbing or pipe laying is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Water Main Pipe Layer or similar role in construction.
- Strong knowledge of pipe installation techniques and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in using construction tools and equipment, including excavators and trenchers.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and any necessary certifications for heavy machinery operation.
