Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated Wallpaper Hanger Helper to assist skilled tradespeople in the installation and maintenance of wallpaper. This entry-level position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work collaboratively with painters, paperhangers, plasterers, and stucco masons. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to perform various tasks that require less skill while contributing to a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist wallpaper hangers by supplying and holding materials and tools as needed during the installation process.
- Prepare surfaces for wallpaper application by cleaning and priming walls to ensure optimal adhesion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper disposal of materials and debris.
- Mix and prepare adhesives or other materials as directed by skilled tradespeople.
- Support team members in measuring and cutting wallpaper to fit specific areas accurately.
- Load and unload materials and equipment as needed, ensuring safe handling practices are followed.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while on the job site to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a construction or labor environment is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Basic knowledge of wallpaper installation techniques is advantageous.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and carry materials as required.
- Familiarity with safety practices in construction settings.
