Job Brief
The Trimming Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending machines that cut or slice various materials, including glass, stone, cork, rubber, food, paper, or insulating materials. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in machine operation and maintenance, along with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential to ensure high-quality production and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust cutting or slicing machines to meet production specifications.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met.
- Inspect materials before, during, and after processing for defects or discrepancies.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize machine downtime.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and productivity.
- Document production output and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machine operation is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Trimming Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with various cutting machinery and tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of safety regulations and practices in manufacturing.
