Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Trim Saw Operator to set up, operate, and tend to wood sawing machines, including computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of wood processing operations. This role requires expertise in precision cutting techniques and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Successful Trim Saw Operators will demonstrate efficiency in achieving high production standards while ensuring safety compliance and quality control.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate wood sawing machines for optimal performance and precision.
- Operate various wood sawing equipment, including circular saws, band saws, and CNC machines.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure consistency and quality of cuts.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sawing machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications for production requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and resolve any operational issues.
- Document production data and machine settings for quality assurance purposes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in woodworking or machine operation preferred.
- Proven experience as a Trim Saw Operator or in a similar role within the woodworking industry.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery and CNC operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including specifications and blueprints.
- Proficient in measuring tools and techniques for precise cutting.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Familiarity with safety regulations in the woodworking and manufacturing environments.
