Job Brief
As a Transportation Engineering Technician, you will apply civil engineering principles to assist in the planning, design, and oversight of transportation projects, including roads, bridges, and transit systems. Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and drafting of transportation infrastructure projects using CAD software.
- Conduct field surveys to collect data on existing transportation conditions and structures.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation to support engineering analyses and project proposals.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze traffic patterns and assess transportation needs.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to engineering specifications and safety standards.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements for existing transportation systems and facilities.
- Utilize GIS tools for mapping and analyzing transportation networks.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Transportation Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Transportation Engineering Technician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal transportation regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects.
