Job Brief

The Tiltrotor Crew Chief plays a critical role in the operation and maintenance of advanced tiltrotor aircraft, ensuring the successful execution of combat, reconnaissance, transport, and search and rescue missions. This position requires extensive experience in aviation maintenance, a solid understanding of aircraft communication and detection systems, and proficiency in in-flight operational duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preflight, in-flight, and postflight inspections of onboard equipment to maintain operational readiness.
  • Operate aircraft communications and detection equipment, including satellite linkages and enemy communication jamming systems.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of aircraft weapons and defensive systems through routine maintenance and checks.
  • Manage in-flight refueling operations and maintain associated systems for efficient fuel management.
  • Execute aircraft safety and emergency procedures to safeguard crew and passengers during missions.
  • Compute and verify weight and balance data for passengers, cargo, fuel, and special equipment to ensure safe flight operations.
  • Perform cargo and personnel drops accurately and efficiently during missions.
  • Collaborate with flight crew and other personnel to coordinate mission objectives and aircraft operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Crew Chief or in a similar aviation maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of tiltrotor aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Certification in aircraft maintenance (e.g., A&P license) preferred.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot aircraft communication and detection systems.
  • Experience in in-flight operations, including refueling and emergency procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with flight and ground crews.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as mission needs dictate.
