Job Brief
The Television Audio Engineer is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining electronic equipment used to acquire, edit, and transmit audio and video for television programs. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain audio and video equipment for television broadcasting.
- Control and adjust broadcast signals for sound volume, signal strength, and clarity.
- Monitor audio levels during live and recorded broadcasts to ensure quality standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to design and implement audio solutions for various programs.
- Operate satellite, microwave, or other transmitter equipment for effective program distribution.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on audio equipment to minimize downtime.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in audio technology and broadcasting techniques.
- Ensure compliance with broadcasting standards and regulations related to audio quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Broadcast Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Television Audio Engineer or similar role in the broadcasting industry.
- Strong knowledge of audio mixing, sound design, and signal processing techniques.
- Proficiency with audio editing software and broadcast equipment.
- Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) and mixing consoles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in audio engineering or related technical fields is a plus.
