Job Brief
The Structural Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in the civil engineering field, applying technical skills and engineering principles to assist in the planning, design, and oversight of construction and maintenance projects for various structures and facilities. Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and drafting of structural components using CAD software.
- Conduct site inspections to assess structural integrity and compliance with engineering specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop project plans and specifications.
- Prepare and analyze technical reports, calculations, and documentation.
- Support project management by coordinating with contractors and suppliers.
- Utilize engineering principles to troubleshoot and resolve design issues.
- Ensure all work complies with legal, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Maintain project records, including changes, updates, and progress reports.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and building codes.
- Experience with project documentation and technical reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Certification as an Engineering Technician (CET) is preferred.
