Job Brief
We are seeking a detail-oriented Specifications Writer to create high-quality technical documentation, including equipment manuals, appendices, and operating and maintenance instructions. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills and technical knowledge, with a focus on clarity and accuracy. This role requires experience in producing comprehensive specifications that facilitate effective communication among cross-functional teams and support operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and write clear and concise technical documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and maintenance guides.
- Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather necessary information and ensure technical accuracy.
- Assist in layout design and formatting of technical documents to enhance readability and user experience.
- Review and revise existing documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Implement feedback from stakeholders to improve documentation quality and effectiveness.
- Organize and manage documentation projects to meet deadlines and maintain project workflows.
- Utilize industry-standard software tools for documentation creation and management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Specifications Writer or in a similar technical writing role.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate complex information into user-friendly documentation.
- Proficiency in documentation tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Word, or MadCap Flare.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, IEEE, or related specifications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
