Job Brief

As a Special Effects Makeup Artist, you will be responsible for applying innovative makeup techniques to create captivating visual effects for performers in film, television, theater, and live events. Responsibilities

  • Maintain hygiene and safety standards by properly sanitizing tools and materials used in makeup application.
  • Stay updated on current trends and technologies in special effects makeup to enhance skills and techniques.
  • Assist in the development of makeup concepts and designs based on script analysis and character development.
  • Apply corrective makeup to performers as needed, ensuring continuity and consistency throughout productions.
  • Conduct makeup tests and fittings to determine the best application methods and materials for each project.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Special Effects Makeup Artist or in a similar role within the entertainment industry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative and technical makeup skills, including special effects techniques.
  • Proficiency in various makeup applications and materials, including prosthetics and face painting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to makeup application and product use.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a creative team environment.
  • Certification from a recognized makeup artistry program is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by production schedules.
