Job Brief
As a Special Education Preschool Teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering the academic, social, and life skills of preschool-aged students with diverse learning, emotional, or physical disabilities. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Create and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning styles and abilities
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to promote skill acquisition and independence
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods as necessary
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to support student development
- Implement classroom management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide support for students with physical disabilities, ensuring accessibility and safety in the classroom
- Stay current with special education laws, best practices, and professional development opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education for preschool or early childhood education
- Experience working with children with disabilities, preferably in a preschool setting
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of professionals and families
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive teaching techniques
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in special education
