Responsibilities
- Deploy to remote locations to combat wildfires using parachute techniques and specialized equipment.
- Conduct fire prevention activities, including assessing fire risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Provide emergency medical services to injured personnel and victims in disaster situations.
- Respond to hazardous material incidents and ensure safe containment and cleanup.
- Participate in search and rescue operations to locate and assist individuals in distress.
- Collaborate with firefighting teams and agencies during emergency incidents to ensure coordinated efforts.
- Maintain and inspect firefighting gear and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Engage in ongoing training and skills development to stay current with firefighting techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in fire science or emergency management preferred.
- Completion of a Smoke Jumper training program and physical fitness certification.
- Valid EMT or paramedic certification and experience in emergency medical response.
- Knowledge of fire behavior, suppression techniques, and safety measures.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration in high-stress environments.
- Ability to operate specialized firefighting equipment and tools.
- Willingness to travel and work irregular hours as needed during emergencies.
