Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Slate Roofer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for covering roofs of various structures using slate, shingles, asphalt, and other roofing materials. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of roofing techniques, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and have a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Previous experience in roofing and familiarity with sealing, insulating, and soundproofing materials are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Install and repair slate roofing, ensuring a watertight seal and proper alignment.
- Assess roof conditions and recommend appropriate materials and techniques for repairs.
- Cover roofs with a variety of materials including shingles, asphalt, and aluminum.
- Spray roofs and sidings with materials to bind, seal, insulate, or soundproof.
- Utilize safety equipment and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents on job sites.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion and high-quality results.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and perform routine maintenance as necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Slate Roofer or in a similar roofing position.
- Strong knowledge of roofing materials, tools, and techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in roofing.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and work at heights.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Certification in roofing safety or related fields is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
