Job Brief
The Ski Patrol is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of guests on ski slopes and mountain trails. This role involves monitoring recreational areas to provide immediate assistance in case of emergencies, conducting safety checks, and enforcing resort policies. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a passion for outdoor activities, and prior experience in first aid or emergency response. A valid certification in CPR and First Aid is required, along with a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all recreational participants.
Responsibilities
- Monitor ski slopes and trails to ensure the safety of skiers and snowboarders.
- Provide immediate first aid and emergency response to injured individuals.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of ski areas and equipment.
- Enforce resort policies and regulations to promote a safe environment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs and training.
- Communicate effectively with team members and guests regarding safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other emergency services as needed during incidents.
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain skills and certifications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in ski patrol or outdoor safety preferred.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong understanding of mountain safety and ski resort operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment in varying weather conditions.
- Previous experience in a ski patrol, lifeguarding, or emergency response role is an advantage.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform rescue operations.
