Job Brief
As a Shipping Order Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing and verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate inventory records. Responsibilities
- Verify and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure inventory integrity.
- Prepare items for shipment, including packaging and labeling according to company and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate transportation logistics to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Communicate with suppliers and freight carriers to resolve shipping discrepancies and issues.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies or shortages to management.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking shipments and managing inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during shipping and receiving processes.
- Assist in optimizing shipping processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Order Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures and inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management software.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
