Job Brief
As a Sheet Rock Hanger, you will be responsible for applying plasterboard, wallboard, and acoustical tiles to ceilings and interior walls of various building types. This role requires significant experience in drywall installation, expertise in soundproofing techniques, and a strong understanding of material application. Responsibilities
- Install plasterboard, wallboard, and other types of wall systems to ceilings and walls in accordance with industry standards.
- Apply acoustical tiles, blocks, and sound-absorbing materials to optimize acoustic performance in various environments.
- Fasten wooden, metal, or rockboard lath to walls and ceilings to create a sturdy base for plaster and other finishes.
- Measure and cut drywall sheets to fit around windows, doors, and electrical outlets, ensuring precise installation.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to coordinate project timelines and material needs.
- Inspect and repair any imperfections in drywall installation to maintain high-quality standards.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sheet Rock Hanger or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of drywall installation techniques and soundproofing methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools used in drywall installation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials as required.
- Relevant certifications in drywall installation or construction safety preferred.
