Job Brief
As a Screen Printing Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various printing machines, including digital, letterpress, lithographic, flexographic, and gravure presses. Your expertise in short-run offset printing will ensure high-quality output while adhering to production schedules and maintaining equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of printing processes, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain various types of printing machines, including screen printing and offset presses.
- Monitor print quality and make adjustments to ensure consistent output and adherence to specifications.
- Prepare inks and substrates for printing, ensuring proper color mixing and material compatibility.
- Conduct routine maintenance on printing equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with designers and production teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance, identifying and resolving any defects or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, materials used, and any machine adjustments made.
- Follow health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Screen Printing Press Operator or similar role in the printing industry.
- Strong understanding of printing processes and equipment, including digital, offset, and flexographic printing.
- Familiarity with color theory, ink mixing, and substrate properties.
- Ability to read and interpret job specifications and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in printing technology is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in the printing industry.
