Job Brief
As a Rural Route Carrier, you will play a crucial role in the United States Postal Service (USPS) by sorting and delivering mail along established routes, whether by vehicle or on foot. Responsibilities
- Sort and organize mail for delivery based on established routes.
- Deliver mail and packages efficiently and accurately to residential and business addresses.
- Maintain delivery schedules and ensure timely arrival at all designated locations.
- Conduct regular vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues promptly.
- Interact courteously with customers while delivering mail and address any inquiries.
- Document and report delivery discrepancies or issues with mail items.
- Adhere to all USPS policies and safety regulations during operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages up to 70 pounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Previous experience in a delivery or customer service role preferred.
- Familiarity with GPS and navigation tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
