Job Brief

As a Rural Route Carrier, you will play a crucial role in the United States Postal Service (USPS) by sorting and delivering mail along established routes, whether by vehicle or on foot. This position requires excellent time management, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Ideal candidates will possess a keen attention to detail, ensuring that all mail is accurately delivered to the correct addresses. Previous experience in delivery services or customer service is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and organize mail for delivery based on established routes.
  • Deliver mail and packages efficiently and accurately to residential and business addresses.
  • Maintain delivery schedules and ensure timely arrival at all designated locations.
  • Conduct regular vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues promptly.
  • Interact courteously with customers while delivering mail and address any inquiries.
  • Document and report delivery discrepancies or issues with mail items.
  • Adhere to all USPS policies and safety regulations during operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy packages up to 70 pounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Previous experience in a delivery or customer service role preferred.
  • Familiarity with GPS and navigation tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
