Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Roof Truss Builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in setting up, operating, and tending woodworking machines, including drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, and CNC equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of truss design and fabrication, along with proficiency in wood nailing machines. The Roof Truss Builder will play a critical role in producing high-quality trusses for various construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate woodworking machines to fabricate roof trusses with precision.
- Utilize CNC equipment to create accurate and consistent truss components.
- Interpret blueprints, layouts, and technical drawings to determine specifications and materials needed.
- Conduct quality checks on fabricated trusses to ensure compliance with structural integrity standards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot woodworking machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing tasks in a workshop environment.
- Document production processes and maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent on tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Roof Truss Builder or in a similar woodworking role.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery and hand tools.
- Experience operating CNC machines is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with safety guidelines and best practices in a woodworking shop.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications are a plus.
