Job Brief
The Rod Buster Helper plays a crucial role in supporting the construction team by assisting skilled rod busters in the installation and placement of rebar and reinforcing steel. This entry-level position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety protocols while working in a fast-paced construction environment. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and installation of rebar and reinforcing steel for various concrete structures.
- Load, unload, and transport materials to and from job sites in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow instructions from rod busters and foremen to ensure accurate placement of materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to assist in the cutting, bending, and shaping of rebar as required.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and contribute to a culture of safety on the job site.
- Support team members in executing tasks within specified deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of construction methods and materials, particularly related to rebar and steel reinforcement.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as required.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is preferred but not required.
