Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Services Aide to support our therapy team in providing exceptional patient care. Under the close supervision of an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant, the successful candidate will perform delegated, selected, and routine tasks to facilitate effective rehabilitation services. This entry-level position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping patients regain their independence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for therapy sessions, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Assist patients with daily living activities and exercises as directed by the occupational therapist.
- Document patient progress and report any changes in condition to the supervising therapist.
- Support the occupational therapy team by organizing materials and maintaining inventory of supplies.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their rehabilitation process.
- Follow safety and infection control protocols to ensure patient wellbeing.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in rehabilitation services.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and therapy equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of licensed professionals.
- Physical stamina to assist patients during therapy sessions and transport equipment.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies in rehabilitation services.
