Job Brief
As a Rebar Worker, you will play a critical role in reinforcing concrete structures by positioning and securing steel bars or mesh within concrete forms. This hands-on position requires expertise in using various tools such as fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, and hand tools. Ideal candidates should possess a strong foundation in construction practices and be able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Prior experience in rebar installation or related fields is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Position and secure steel reinforcing bars or mesh in concrete forms.
- Utilize rod-bending machines to accurately shape rebar according to project specifications.
- Employ blowtorches and other tools to weld and join metal components as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints and project plans to determine material requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all tasks.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure timely project completion.
- Inspect and maintain tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in the organization and management of materials on-site.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in construction is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Rebar Worker or in a similar construction role.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with various rebar tools and equipment.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Certification in OSHA safety standards is preferred.
