Job Brief
As a Rake Operator, you will play a vital role in supporting essential agricultural operations, including tilling soil, planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops. You will be responsible for driving and controlling specialized equipment, ensuring efficiency in the agricultural processes. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience operating agricultural machinery, a strong understanding of crop management, and the ability to work effectively in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Operate and control raking equipment to assist in the preparation and maintenance of soil for crop production.
- Drive machinery to plant, cultivate, and harvest crops while ensuring optimal performance.
- Manage livestock through feeding and herding operations, maintaining animal welfare standards.
- Perform post-harvest tasks such as husking, shelling, threshing, and ginning using stationary equipment.
- Execute crop baling and hay bucking operations to enhance yield quality and efficiency.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of agricultural machinery to ensure reliability and safety.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to promote a secure working environment.
- Assist in the monitoring of crop health and report any issues to management for timely intervention.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating agricultural equipment, particularly rakes and related machinery.
- Knowledge of crop production techniques and livestock management.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to work long hours in varying weather conditions and physical stamina for manual tasks.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; certification for operating heavy machinery is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in agriculture or machinery operation is preferred.
