Job Brief
The Purchasing Assistant plays a vital role in the procurement process by compiling information and records to create purchase orders for materials and services. Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze procurement data to generate accurate purchase orders.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Maintain and update records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders to replenish inventory as needed.
- Support the purchasing team in negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers.
- Prepare reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance for management review.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding procurement processes.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess vendor proposals and pricing.
- Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor negotiations.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
