Job Brief
As a Production Cost Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate cost estimates for product manufacturing, construction projects, or services. Responsibilities
- Analyze project specifications and blueprints to prepare detailed cost estimates for production.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to gather necessary information for accurate costing.
- Utilize cost estimation software and tools to develop comprehensive pricing models.
- Research and apply current market prices for materials, labor, and overhead to ensure competitive bids.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
- Prepare and present cost estimation reports to management for review and approval.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing strategies, and best practices in cost estimation.
- Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for various projects and contracts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Cost Estimator or similar role in manufacturing or construction.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and project specifications.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software such as Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to cost estimation and project bidding.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying cost estimates to stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certification as a Cost Estimator (e.g., Certified Cost Professional or similar) is a plus.
