Job Brief
As a Print Retoucher, you will be responsible for developing and processing high-quality photographic images from both film and digital media. This role demands precision in editing photographic negatives and prints while ensuring optimal color correction, retouching, and enhancement of visual elements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital imaging, attention to detail, and proficiency in industry-standard software.
Responsibilities
- Edit and enhance photographic images for print production, ensuring accuracy in color grading and image quality.
- Perform color correction and retouching tasks on both digital and film photographs.
- Utilize advanced software tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to achieve desired visual effects.
- Collaborate with photographers and designers to meet project specifications and deadlines.
- Maintain an organized workflow and manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to quality standards.
- Prepare files for print production, ensuring they meet industry specifications and guidelines.
- Stay updated with current trends and techniques in photo retouching and printing technologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Print Retoucher or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, and Illustrator) and other relevant image editing software.
- Strong understanding of color theory, composition, and photographic principles.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining a high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a creative team.
- Technical knowledge of print processes and file preparation for various print media.
- A degree in Photography, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred but not required.
