Job Brief
As a Predatory Animal Trapper, you will be responsible for hunting, trapping, and capturing wild animals to manage populations effectively and ensure ecological balance. This role requires a keen understanding of animal behavior, experience in using various trapping equipment, and a commitment to safe and humane practices. Responsibilities
- Hunt, trap, and capture predatory animals using nets, traps, and other specialized equipment.
- Conduct thorough assessments of wildlife populations and habitats to identify trapping locations.
- Maintain and operate trapping tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding wildlife capture and management.
- Safely transport and relocate trapped animals to designated areas as per ecological guidelines.
- Document all trapping activities, including species captured and locations, for data collection purposes.
- Assist in wildlife population studies and contribute to conservation efforts.
- Educate the public on predatory animal management and the importance of ecological balance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in wildlife management or animal handling preferred.
- Proven experience in trapping, hunting, or wildlife management.
- Strong knowledge of local wildlife species, habitats, and behavior.
- Ability to use and maintain trapping equipment safely and effectively.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills to engage with the public and provide education.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various trapping locations.
