Responsibilities
- Officiate competitive athletic events, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
- Monitor participants for adherence to established guidelines and detect any infractions during competitions.
- Make informed decisions on penalties and enforce consequences as necessary to maintain fair play.
- Coordinate with other officials and event organizers to facilitate smooth event operations.
- Provide clear communication to athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders regarding rules and penalties.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on event outcomes and any rule violations.
- Stay updated on changes in rules and regulations within the sport to ensure compliance and effective officiating.
- Assist in training and mentoring new officials, promoting best practices in officiating.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a sports official, referee, or judge in a competitive environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the sport’s rules and regulations.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail to identify rule violations promptly.
- Excellent decision-making and communication skills to convey penalties effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle conflicts professionally.
- Certification from a recognized officiating body is preferred.
- Physical stamina and agility to keep pace with fast-moving events.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
