Job Brief
As a Piano Refinisher, you will be responsible for shaping, finishing, and refinishing pianos and other fine furniture to restore their original beauty and enhance their aesthetic appeal. Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate the condition of pianos and furniture to determine necessary refinishing techniques.
- Prepare surfaces by sanding, cleaning, and applying primers to ensure proper adhesion of finishes.
- Mix and match stains, paints, and finishes to achieve specified colors and textures.
- Apply finishing products using brushes, sprayers, or other tools to ensure an even coat and high-quality finish.
- Repair minor damages, including scratches, dents, and other imperfections, using appropriate restoration methods.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure the finished product meets company and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with other craftsmen and professionals to meet project deadlines and specifications.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a piano refinisher or in a similar furniture restoration role.
- Strong knowledge of wood types, finishes, and refinishing processes.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to refinishing and restoration.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong aesthetic judgment.
- Ability to work independently and follow project specifications accurately.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
- Certifications in furniture restoration or related fields are a plus.
