Job Brief

The Photogrammetrist is responsible for the research, study, and preparation of maps and spatial data in both digital and graphic formats. This role involves utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to design and evaluate algorithms and data structures, as well as user interfaces for mapping systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience in geodetic surveys, and proficiency in interpreting aerial photographs and satellite data.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct photogrammetric analyses to generate accurate maps and spatial data.
  • Utilize GIS software to create, edit, and manage geographic datasets.
  • Analyze and interpret data from geodetic surveys, aerial imagery, and satellite information.
  • Design and evaluate algorithms and data structures for GIS applications.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on spatial data findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mapping solutions into various projects.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in mapping and spatial data practices.
  • Stay updated on trends and advancements in photogrammetry and GIS technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, Cartography, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in photogrammetry and GIS applications.
  • Strong proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and photogrammetric tools.
  • Solid understanding of geodetic principles and spatial data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with various forms of geographic data, including satellite imagery and aerial photographs.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying complex spatial information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified GIS Professional) are a plus.
