Job Brief

As a Pharmacoepidemiologist, you will investigate and analyze the determinants and distribution of health outcomes related to pharmacological treatments. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and conducting epidemiological studies, evaluating medication effectiveness and safety, and contributing to the development of strategies for disease prevention and control. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in epidemiology, biostatistics, and pharmacology, along with experience in data analysis and interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement epidemiological studies to assess the safety and effectiveness of medications.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, associations, and causal relationships between drug exposure and health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate pharmacovigilance strategies.
  • Communicate findings through reports, publications, and presentations to stakeholders and the scientific community.
  • Stay current with advancements in pharmacology, epidemiology, and public health to inform research methodologies.
  • Develop and validate statistical models to predict health outcomes based on medication use.
  • Contribute to the formulation of guidelines for medication use and safety monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements during research activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in pharmacoepidemiology or related research areas.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, Stata).
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and guidelines related to drug safety and efficacy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with database management and electronic health records is a plus.
