Job Brief
As a Petroleum Refinery Operator, you will play a crucial role in the operation and control of petroleum refining and processing units. This position requires a strong understanding of manifold and pumping systems, as well as expertise in gauging and testing oil in storage tanks. Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor petroleum processing units to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
- Control manifold and pumping systems to manage the flow of petroleum products effectively.
- Conduct regular gauging and testing of oil in storage tanks to verify quality and quantity.
- Regulate pipeline flow and pressure to maintain operational integrity and prevent leaks.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
- Document operational data and report any discrepancies or issues to management.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges.
- Adhere to environmental and safety standards to minimize risks and promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or degree in petroleum engineering or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a petroleum refinery operator or in a related position.
- Proficient in operating refinery equipment and understanding refining processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations related to petroleum refining.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
