Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) with a strong background in diagnosing and treating acute, episodic, and chronic illnesses in children. The ideal candidate will work independently or collaboratively within a healthcare team to provide comprehensive care, focusing on health promotion and disease prevention. The PNP will have the ability to order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and prescribe medications as needed. A specialized graduate education and active RN license are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for pediatric patients.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions in children.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory work and imaging.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to treatments.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of illnesses.
- Document patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Stay current with best practices in pediatric healthcare and participate in ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing, specializing in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner programs.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification (PNP-BC).
- Proven clinical experience in pediatric healthcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric pharmacology and diagnostic procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with children and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Commitment to continuous education and professional development in pediatric nursing.
