Job Brief

The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing payroll operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation. This role requires a strong background in payroll administration, compliance with federal and state regulations, and the ability to lead a team of clerical and administrative staff. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of payroll clerks and administrative support staff.
  • Ensure the accurate calculation of employee wages, deductions, and benefits in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review and approve payroll reports, ensuring data integrity and timely processing.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries regarding pay and deductions.
  • Implement and maintain payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Conduct audits of payroll processes to identify discrepancies and improve accuracy.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll legislation and industry trends to ensure compliance.
  • Provide training and support to payroll staff to foster professional development and enhance performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar systems).
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Certification in payroll management (e.g., CPP or FPC) is a plus.
